Josh and Chuck are back with their annual Halloween tradition, treating listeners to two spine-tingling public domain stories perfect for getting into the spooky season. First up is Philip K. Dick's "Beyond the Door," a delightfully creepy tale about a seemingly innocent cuckoo clock that becomes far more sinister than anyone bargained for, and then they switch gears to M.R. James's atmospheric "Rats," a Victorian-era story about a young scholar's unsettling discovery during what was supposed to be a peaceful, productive month in the English countryside. Both tales are wonderfully read by Josh and Chuck themselves, complete with their best attempt at period-appropriate accents, and the hosts are clearly having a blast bringing these eerie narratives to life while cracking jokes between scenes.
